New Forge State Forest (New Forge Road II Parking Lot)

This 612-acre State Forest is a primitive forest with creek access and three campsites. One trail leads directly from the kiosk and will bring you to the Taghkanic Creek and a waterfall. Above the waterfall is an ideal spot for fishing or canoeing. There are also more trails beyond the gate at the other end of the parking lot. There are three trails, totaling 2.6 miles, in the forest that allow motorized access for people with mobility impairments. A permit is required through the Motorized Access Program for People with Disabilities.
